Description: This is the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX, and it’s the result of a massive technology project to experiment what can be done with Mercedes EVs in the future. Now this isn’t just a fancy looking prototype and a shell of a car, the EQXX meets all current road and safety regulations and is fully drivable. Technically, it could be put into production today. However it’s never going to go on sale, that wasn’t the point of this study. Mercedes wanted to learn as much as possible from the development of the Vision EQXX, knowledge that will be used on upcoming production EVs from the company. The main goal here was to engineer and design an electric car with a range greater than 620 miles and that’s exactly what Mercedes has done. How did they do it? Well it’s a mix of brand new battery engineering and clever automotive design. A design that gives the EQXX a drag coefficient of only 0.17. That’s even better than the current record holder for production cars - the EQS which has a Cd of 0.20. Then there’s the battery pack. It’s just under 100 kWh and it’s still 50% less in volume. It’s also 30% lighter than the battery pack found in the EQS. When you first see the EQXX you might think it’s as quick as a McLaren Speedtail but that’s not the case. The body is extremely slippery, yes, but we also need to keep in mind what the main goal was here - a range greater than 620 miles or 1000km. ★My second channel: youtube.com/bembli ★My vlog channel: youtube.com/bembli2 ★My sketch course: analogdesignerpropack.com ★MERCH Hats, Tees & More: thesketchmonkey.com ★Get exclusive content on my Patreon: patreon.com/thesketchmonkey ★The books, art supplies and equipment I use: amazon.com/shop/thesketchmonkey Thanks for watching!
