Description: Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is showing just what a greedy scumbag he can be by announcing that his stores will be giving everyone a raise...unless they've joined a union. This kind of retaliation SHOULD be illegal, but very rarely do we ever see these corrupt CEOs get hauled away by the police. But just remember that the next time you fill up your Starbucks mug, you're contributing to union busting, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains. Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz has announced recently in a phone call with investors and shareholders, that he is going to engage in a new form of union busting at Starbucks. And of course this comes after about 50 stores in recent weeks have voted to unionize their stores so that they can engage in collective bargaining and create better lives for themselves. So Schultz gets on this call with the shareholders and investors and says, Hey, look, I'm dumping a mil, a billion dollars back into the company. Part of this, by the way, is going to be used to give everybody the raises that I had publicly promised. Right? We're raising it to 15 an hour. Um, so yeah, I'm gonna be given everybody raises, except of course, for those stores that have unionized, they don't get these benefits that I'm implementing companywide and any store that is in the process of perhaps forming a union in the early stages of a they're also by the way, not going to get raises. And the reasoning he says is because, well, as you know, they're union now. So, so if they want any kind of pay increase, we gotta go through the collective bargaining. We've gotta all sit down at the table and work something out. But for those that haven't gone through the union process, you're about to get a big pay because me and everyone else that runs this company, we just care so much about you. And we're actually just trying to punish the union stores is what this really is. And yes, folks, this is in fact, a form of union busting because the intent here is to get people to not join a union or to stomp out the unions before they form. And it also shows you, by the way, how shortsighted people like Howard Schultz really are. They think that these unions are forming just for the money, because that's all that CEOs like Mr. Schultz think about, uh, obviously people just want money. They just want money, money, money. No, I'll tell you what they want. They do want a living wage, for sure. They want benefits, man. They wanna be able to go to the doctor. They wanna be able to take time off. They wanna be able to have a kid and take six to eight weeks of maternity leave so they can be home with them before they come back and start making frappuccinos. Again, they want to be able to go out there and actually enjoy their lives while also still able to come into work. Right? That's it, it's not just about the money. It's about the dignity that comes along with the union representation. By getting things like time off by being able to take care of your family and not lose your job. And it bugs the hell outta me. When you see these, like we'll just throw more money. We'll just give you a raise. It's not just the money. There are so many other benefits that these workers need, that you are still denying them. And you think you can buy them off and kill these unions by throwing a couple extra bucks per hour at the people who don't have unions at their stores yet.
