Description: On this 2006 Ford Explorer, the brake shield had rusted, causing the parking brake hardware retainer to fall inside the rotor, which resulted in a squeaking noise. Rather than disassemble the spindle to replace just the shield and the wheel bearing, I saved a significant amount of time by replacing the entire knuckle / spindle assembly, which included a new shield, wheel bearing, bushings, hub and brake hardware.
