Funeral ceremony STORYLINE: Hundreds of mourners gathered in the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh on Sunday for the funeral of a 23-year-old security guard who was shot and killed by Palestinian attackers in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli military on Saturday said it arrested a pair of Palestinian attackers suspected of the deadly shooting. The shooting took place late Friday at the entrance to Ariel, a major settlement in the northern West Bank. The security guard, Daniel Vyacheslav Golev stood in front of another guard who was with him, saving her life. The violence could further fuel tensions that have soared over the past two months. A string of Palestinian attacks in Israel and the West Bank have left 15 Israelis dead, while at least 27 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli security forces in recent weeks. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has expressed condolences to the family of the security guard.
