Description: Hyundai confirmed the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and its 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. Pressing the “N Grin Shift” button boosts that up to 286 horsepower for 20 seconds at a time by increasing boost pressure. Hyundai says the interval time between presses is only 40 seconds, so you could theoretically use it on every lap when on a track. You’ll need to spec the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to get the N Grin Shift power, though, as it’s not available with the standard six-speed manual. Per usual with dual-clutch automatic-equipped cars, you take a weight penalty. The six-speed manual comes in at 3,186 pounds, which is 110 pounds lighter than the DCT car. Some of that extra weight is up top, too, as all DCTs get a moonroof, while manual Elantra Ns have full hardtop roofs.
