Description: In this video, I show you five mistakes I made building a DIY Ebike electric bike. If I had to do it over again, I would definitely do things differently. One mistake we made was choosing a beach cruiser bike with a coaster brake. If I was building an E bike again, I would use a bike with disc brakes and suspension, because it would be safer at high speeds, and easier to stop. Another mistake we made building this ebike was going with a front wheel kit instead of a rear wheel kit. If I was going to build a DIY E bike again, I would make one with a rear wheel motor instead of a front wheel motor. Front wheel motor is easier to install, but the advantages of a rear wheel motor are significant, and it’s much safer. Another mistake I made was making it too fast and powerful. You don’t need a lot of power when you’re building an E-bike, you just need a little help getting up and down the hills and cruising along. This homemade Ebike goes 38 miles an hour, which is much too fast. I hope this video helps you if you are planning to build an electric Ebike. Make sure you think of everything before you buy all the parts.
