Description: The current Corona virus epidemic has had the biggest and most devastating impact on the most fragile and neediest Afghans back home.  In Afghanistan, majority of the poor people make their little earning on a daily basis so at night they could take a few pieces of bread home to their already struggling families. Ms. Aryana Sayeed and her Fiancé/Manager Mr. Hasib Sayed decided to proceed with an online fundraising through GoFundMe (gf.me/u/xuaxjy) to assist some of the neediest families in Afghanistan. The response from our Afghans around the world was more than amazing with the initial goal of $20,000 CA being met literally within 24 hours and in total $38,690 CA ($37,375.07 CA after GoFundMe processing fees and commissions) was eventually raised. The raised amount was utilized to purchase food items for approximately 300 Families (50kg Flour - 25kg Rice - 15kg Chickpeas - 12.5kg Red Beans - 5L Cooking Oil) and a creative and very organized process was created to identity and distribute the items to those in need. Steps to safeguard the attendees against Corona virus were taken and even the taxi charges to take all the Donation Recipients home was covered to ensure a comfortable and respectful overall process. The amazing Team on the ground in Kabul was headed by Mr. Nisar Bahaduri and Ms. Aryana and ARYANA Foundation were represented at the event by Mr. Sulaiman Didar Shafihee (Poet of Ms. Aryana’s Songs). Special thanks to Haji Nisar Owner of Taj Continental who made his beautiful venue available to our Team without any charges and also provided the anti-Corona virus safety measures/items as well.
