Daily, we provide care to over 1,500 children and their families and services to more than 80 developmentally disabled individuals. It is Cardinal McCloskey Services' mission "to promote the healthy development of children and adults by providing services to enhance the quality of their lives and support the sanctity of family." It is the agency's goal to empower and encourage those in our care or receiving services to reach their full potential by ensuring their physical and emotional well-being and by providing each one with opportunities to achieve personal goals. Through our dedicated commitment to caring for those in need, we have continually expanded and developed new programs. CMS now provides a vast array of services through 17 different programs at 19 sites throughout the Bronx, East Harlem, Westchester County and Rockland County. Cardinal McCloskey Services employs more than 450 staff members (310 full-time and 144 part-time or per diem) including professionals from the fields of social work, education, psychiatry, psychology, medicine and child care. In addition to employees, CMS relies on the dedicated services of 425 certified foster parents and 215 trained day care providers to ensure the delivery of quality services. CMS is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who represents the ethnically and geographically diverse communities we serve. Our $29 million operating budget is funded through service contracts with New York City's Administration for Children's Services and Agency for Child Development; Westchester County's Department of Social Services; Rockland County's Department of Social Services; New York State's Office of Mental Health, Office for People With Developmental Disabilities and Department of Education; charitable contributions from foundations, corporations, organizations and individuals; and some client fees.
