The U.S. government was targeting the Kinahan organization and seven men with a $5 million reward for the alleged bosses: Boxing promoter Daniel Kinahan, 44, his father Christy Kinahan, 65, and brother, Christopher Kinahan Jr., 41. Further, the U.S. froze them out of the U.S. financial system, This freezes their assets and makes it illegal for any U.S. citizen or company or any person or company in the U.S. to do business with them. This includes such simple transactions as flying on a U.S. airline or using a U.S. bank or credit card. The significant new actions by the U.S. government are part of a renewed international push against the group, a push led by Ireland’s national police, called An Garda Síochána, and includes Britain’s National Crime Agency and Europol, the European Union’s police agency.
