Description: Evolution of Google Pixel In this video we'll take a look at the five generations of the Google Pixel. The Pixel series replaced the Nexus smartphone lineup, in order to have more control of the design, quality, and features. Pixel 1 In 2016, Google replaced its Nexus smartphone lineup with the Pixel series. They announced two smartphones as part of the series. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL. They emphasized the camera on the phones, which ranked as the best smartphone camera at that time. Although they were attractive. The bezels on the two phones were pretty thick. Pixel 2 The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were introduced back in October 2017. Featuring two different designs. The Pixel 2 came with a considerably thicker bezel than the Pixel 2 XL. But both feature front-facing stereo speakers. The Pixel 2 shipped with a regular AMOLED display, while the Pixel 2 XL included a P-OLED panel. Pixel 3 The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were announced in October 2018. And like the Pixel 2 devices, they did not look identical. The Pixel 3 had noticeable bezels above and below the display, while the Pixel 3 XL had a rather large notch at the top of the display, in order to imitate the iPhone. They both included front-facing stereo speakers, though the Pixel 3's output was more powerful. The Pixel 3 A was released six months later, sporting the popular camera features, but in a more affordable package. Pixel 4 The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were announced in October 2019. Although different in size, this time they featured the same design. Sensors for advanced facial scanning were included as well as a radar chip that enabled "Motion Sense". But Google did not include a fingerprint scanner on either of these two smartphones. The Pixel 4 devices were the first phones in the series to offer two rear-facing cameras. And once again, Google is about to release a more affordable version of the Pixel, the Pixel 4a. Pixel 5 The Pixel 5 wont be here for another 7 months. But we already have leaked designs and features. For the Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL, we're expecting 5G. As well as a camera with a third lens. And a smarter Motion Sense feature. It's expected to come with 8GB of RAM and at least 128GB of storage. It will will feature new gesture controls, to take advantage of the radar chip, and will ship with Android 11.
