Description: Welcome back to another episode of Shoe Care Academy! One of our favorite personalities, Pretty Boy Rob, is back to school us on how to clean the Nike Air Max 1 Patta Waves Monarch using the RESHOEVN8R Signature Kit! As he always says, “there’s not much left to it, but to do it!” Like every cleaning, Rob started off by removing the laces and inserting the adjustable shoe tree. The shoe trees are an essential resource in the cleaning process and will allow your shoe to keep its shape while you put additional pressure on the toe box. A high maintenance shoe comprised of mesh and suede, Rob wanted to remove any excess dirt and dust from the outer layer of the kick before putting the solution and brushes to work. Doing this will not only prevent you from pushing unwanted dirt deeper into the shoe, but it will also prevent your bowl of water and solution from becoming murky too quickly. With the excess dirt kicked from the shoe, it was time to get bubbly! Two squirts everybody knows the rules! With the water and solution ready to go, Rob gave the uppers a pass using the soft bristle brush. After dabbing the shoe dry using a RESHOEVN8R microfiber towel, the Patta was starting to show its original beautiful face! There were still some stains on the mid and outsoles that needed to be addressed, so Rob hit those with the medium and stiff bristle brushes. We were almost back to wearable condition, but the mesh and sock liners were just too dingy for PBR’s liking. Time for the patented laundry system! As Pretty Boy mentioned, we typically would NOT recommend putting suede or nubuck into the washing machine, but with a shoe this busted there was no alternative. Once the washing machine and laundry bag flushed out the dirt trapped within the sock liner and mesh, the shoe was as good as new! Tell us what you think in the comments!
