Description: This was a bit of an odd situation today after leaving the track. I made a last second decision on the way home to stop by a restaurant local to Lime Rock for a chicken parm wedge and I parked next to a Porsche GT3 in the parking lot. I didn't see this GT3 at the track which I was a bit surprised by so I hopped out of my rental car and was just going to walk in and order my food until I saw the cutest dog in the back of the GT3. I got my camera out and started taking a few pictures and was going to head in at this point when someone asked if the GT3 was my car and I replied saying no I wish! This is where things started to get interesting, this was the first of multiple people to approach me while I was near the GT3 taking pictures asking if it was mine. Everyone starts telling me the car was parked there for the past 2-3 hours and they were all very concerned for the dog in the back. Now the owner of the GT3 left the passenger window completely down but the sun was beating in on the rear of the car for awhile and the dog looked pretty hot. I figured I would ease everyone's nerves and give the dog some nice cold water since I had a case of water in the trunk of my car. As you can see in the video the dog is happily drinking the water I'm offering it (I'm a complete stranger to the dog). I figure all good at this point let me just try to find the owner and let him know a lot of people are pretty upset and are still on the verge of calling the police for the dog. My intentions were pretty clear from the beginning that I was trying to do the owner of the GT3 and dog a favor by calming all these random people down so he wouldn't have to be dealing with the police. When I finally saw he was by his car I told him I gave his dog some fresh cold water due to what was going on and initially he was pretty pissed off at me! I kept reassuring him I was just trying to help him with not having to deal with all these people calling the police on him and I was also just trying to do him a favor by giving his dog some fresh water to cool everyone down that was worried about the dog. In the end he seemed to come around and see I was simply looking out for his best interests and wasn't there to confront him about leaving his dog in the car. I actually think it's pretty badass he drives a Porsche GT3 and brings his dog with him! That is a goal I look forward to achieving one day, owning my dream car and just cruising around with my dog.
