Description: In the beaker I have some super-absorbent polymer. The polymer can absorb many times it’s weight in water, and it can do it very quickly. In the video the super-absorbent polymer used is Sodium polyacrylate (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_polyacrylate). I bought it as a product called Instant Snow for about $10 (amzn.to/3P5UFF9 affiliate link). It’s interesting because it is non-toxic and can be used for science projects and general chemistry interest. Superaborbent polymers are used extensively in products and industry. For example: disposable diapers, medical bandages, or even drown-free water source for feeder insects.
