Description: Making a Rhinestone and Glitter Custom Name with your Cricut Explore Air 2 and HTV Anything You can create super sparkly decals in Cricut's Design Space using our Shadow fonts, Glitter htv, Hotfix Rhinestones and our ColorSpark HTV Anything decal material! We created our Shadow Fonts to make creating these layered names quickly and easily in all software. The fonts come with the extra layers built right in and named Shadow 1, 2, 3 and 4! We typed the name with our Shadow 6 font: therhinestoneworld.com/shadow-font-family For this font, use 172.8 for your font point size for ss10 stones in Design Space. This sizes the dots in the font to be .135", which is the perfect size for your stones to fall into your template when you brush them in. Then, copy and paste the name and change the font to the Shadow font version 2. Normally, we'd duplicate the name again and change to Shadow font 3 and again for Shadow font 4, then work at aligning all 4 versions for each letter. Today, we thought we'd try aligning the rhinestone layer and the first glitter outline layer, then weld each layer and create an offset from the glitter layer. The results are great and you have a bit more control with how big you want those offsets to be. We did have some overlapping stones when we moved the letters closer together. To fix that easily, we used the Contour button in the Layers panel to get rid of the overlap, then created a circle with the tools on the left hand panel and size that to .135" and add that to the path where we'd deleted the overlapping stones. Some of the viewers suggested that when we'd welded the rhinestone layer, we should have simply grouped, to be able to edit the rhinestones at this point. We like to use Weed Boxes for our vinyl and it's necessary for the rhinestone template. Create a box using the Shapes tool, unlock and size to just cover each of the names. Send the box to the back in your Layers panel so you can see the text and be sure the box goes beyond your text. ** On the Rhinestone version, you will want to have the text welded first, align the box behind the rhinestones, select both and SLICE. ** The reason you do this is because Design Space tends to freeze up with too many objects on the screen. Slice the dots out through the template box you created and delete the extra copies, leaving just the box with the holes sliced out. PRO TIP: Check your htv designs...if there are tiny areas between letters, you can hide those using the Contour Button in your Layers panel. That way, you are not weeding out tiny pieces from that layer. Be sure to mirror your htv portions of your design before cutting! Load your glitter htv onto your mat shiny side down. The heat activated adhesive is on the back of the htv and the shiny plastic sheet is your Carrier sheet. ** Be sure to check your Cut Settings before hitting your blinking Cricut button to start the cut! We also click the MORE when Design Space prompts us, which just gives a bit more pressure to the cut. Place your HTV Anything therhinestoneworld.com/colorspark-htv-anythingShiny Side UP on your cutting mat and do NOT mirror the design. therhinestoneworld.com/colorspark-htv-anything We like to use the Light Cardstock setting for HTV Anything & recommend doing a test cut so you know your materials will cut and weed properly. Weed the glitter htv and HTV Anything and send the rhinestone design to the cutter. We like to peel the protective backing off of the Magic Flock template material and place our Magic Flock directly on the mat. The sticky mat will help weed dots out. Do NOT Mirror the design for your Magic Flock. We use the Cardstock + setting. therhinestoneworld.com/magic-flock-by-the-foot-12-rhinestone-template-material Peel the Magic Flock off the carrier starting at the top left corner and place it on a work surface or table. Pour a pile of rhinestones onto your template, use your rhinestone brush to brush them in and lift the design with Acrylic Hotfix Tape. therhinestoneworld.com/hot-fix-korean-5a-low-lead-ss10-rhinestones therhinestoneworld.com/acrylic-rhinestone-hot-fix-transfer-tape-12 Line the HTV Anything to the first or back layer of the Glitter htv. Cover with a Teflon sheet. Press a tack press for just a couple of seconds at 305 degrees F. Flip it over and roll the decal off the carrier. Repeat these steps until you get to the rhinestones and then do a full press. ss10 Rhinestones press at 325 degrees F for 15 seconds. If you have Questions, feel free to Comment below!
