Description: Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly/22LGXK7 This no-bake vegan energy bar recipe provides the energy boost from the naturally occurring caffeine in the matcha green tea powder, as well as the theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation and focus. Additionally, the holy basil, sometimes referred to as tulsi, is an ancient adaptogenic herb, allowing the body to fight stress, anxiety, depression, and adrenal fatigue. In some ways the matcha and tulsi do similar things, but are very different in many ways, thus I like to refer to these bars as: "Yin Yang Energy Bars". Here's the recipe: For the bottom layer : Mix together the following: - 2 Tbsp ground flax seeds - 2 Tbsp hemp seeds - 1/2 cup ground pumpkin seeds (I used my coffee grinder) Mix, then add the following: - 1 cup dates, pitted and soaked in water for 1 hour Blend until smooth and spread evenly into a pan. Cover and put into the freezer for 1 hour. For the top layer: Mix the following: - 3 Tbsp matcha green tea powder (I like Organic Traditions) - 1/4 tsp holy basil powder (I also use the Organic Traditions brand) - 1/2 cup oat flour Mix Then add: - 3 Tbsp tahini - 3 Tbsp coconut cream Blend until smooth then spread over the bottom layer. On low heat, melt dark chocolate then drizzle over the top layer. Re-cover and put in fridge for a minimum of one hour. *If you find the bars to be too soft, keep stored in the freezer and then thaw for 3 minutes before serving.
