Description: Learn in this video, how to carry additional luggage that does not fit into your car: with an original MINI Roof box you can. Nevertheless: Please observe the load weight limits! Check the manuals for the maximum payload of your roof box and your car’s roof load limit. To mount the MINI roof box, first install the four anchor points. Push the screws of the sliding blocks through the bottom holes of the roof box. Now fit the clamp plates into the moulds threading them onto the sliding block screws. Screw the clamping bolts loosely onto the sliding block screws. Lift the roof box onto the roof carrier rails. It’s easier with a helping hand. Slide it to the left side on the carrier rails until both left-handed sliding blocks are positioned in front of the carrier rails ends. Check if you can still open your MINI’s boot lid! Thread both of the left sliding blocks into the carrier rails and slide the roof box to the opposite side of the carrier rails. When the right-handed sliding blocks are positioned in front of the right carrier rails ends, also thread them into the rails. Slide the MINI roof box along the carrier rails toward the vehicle centre, and align it centrally. Open the roof box from one side and tighten all four clamping bolts on top of the sliding blocks. You can open the MINI Roof box from both sides to load it. Make sure to distribute the luggage weight as evenly in the roof box as possible. Use the lashing and the included tension belts to tie down all the luggage together so the load won’t shift when you drive. If preferred, you can glue the white stripes on the box for more individualisation. Want more? Watch our How To Series and learn to use your MINI to the fullest.
