Every tile installer should know how to use a pair of tile nips, or nippers, they really come in handy for those little cuts to trim a tile, to help make a curved cut in a tile, or even to take a long sliver off a tile. They are a simple tool, but they do need some practice to master and to become comfortable using them. You would be surprised at just how many things you can do with a pair of tile nippers.
