Description: Neoballs and neodymium spheres/balls are some fun toys to muck around with and play with in general. But what happens to them when you heat them to over 1000 degrees? In this video, we put a blow torch to a cube of neodymium bucky balls to see what happens. Contact: ibuynewstuff@gmail.com In physics and engineering materials science, the Curie temperature (TC), or Curie point, is the temperature at which certain materials lose their permanent magnetic properties, to be replaced by induced magnetism. In this experiment, we show that we surpass the curie temperature of neodymium bucky balls (by far!) While there are some lone survivors, it’s clearly visible that the neodymium spheres turn into a bunch of expensive ball bearings.
