There typical ambush posture with lightning speeds, realistically meant changing my approach to handling these species. With most Australian snakes you might be lucky to a dodge a strike at close range, but with the Viperdae family - good luck. Keeping a safe strike distance is a fundamental key to avoiding a nasty bite; snake handling can be a little bit tricky with this species as they have great mobility in their middle section which allows them to pivot and move in a upwards fashion.
