Description: One of the most vivid sensations experienced when playing the theremin is the feeling that sound is free in space, waiting to be found. Taking sound for what it really is - a wave dispersing in all directions - and reorganizing it with just a tiny flick of the hands was Leon Theremin's greatest achievement. Traditional sound amplification, however, imposed limitations on this revolutionary musical experience. Revolution also describes circular movement, like that of the Earth around the Sun. I had this idea in mind when I started experimenting with surround sound. How can the sound produced by a theremin break the barriers of amplification and travel around the room? Surround sound technology allows music to be played to its full potential, transcending space into all possible dimensions.
