Red over black milk paint wears well and gives a classic look. Applying Milk Paint is fairly straightforward, but very labor-intensive. Your first coat raises the grain, your second coat seals, your 3-5th coat adds dimension, adding oil makes the colors pop. BUT, each coat takes 45 mins, with work between.
