Description: Military medicine allows you to serve your country, see the world, and accomplish things you never thought possible. That being said, it is not for everyone. Here are the things that you need to know before becoming a military doctor. First, flexibility is paramount. There is no such thing as being part-time military. Second there are unique military medicine challenges, such as the additional training you'll receive, including in trauma, weapons, and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive emergencies. Third, career pyramids in the military are tracks that prepare you to go into different areas of practice as a physician after medical school. The pyramids are command, academic, master clinician, and operational. Fourth, relationships are complicated as a military physician. As an officer, you are prohibited from dating other enlisted personnel. ๐ Sign up for my weekly newsletter - medschoolinsiders.com/newsletter ๐ Website & blog - medschoolinsiders.com ๐ธ Instagram - instagram.com/medschoolinsiders ๐ฆ Twitter - twitter.com/medinsiders ๐ฃ๏ธ Facebook - facebook.com/medschoolinsiders ๐ฅ My Youtube Gear: kit.co/kevinjubbalmd ๐ Hand Picked Productivity Tools: amazon.com/shop/medschoolinsiders ๐ตMy Study Playlist: open.spotify.com/user/1231934998/playlist/5joGbr1aQAIbMcJ9bOvJlk?si=iOAxgKNTQt-rrp1L8g-YWQ TIME STAMPS: 00:00 Introduction 00:22 The Importance of Flexibility 02:03 Unique Military Medicine Challenges 03:26 Career Pyramids 04:59 Relationships as a Military Doctor 06:40 Should You Choose Military Medicine?
