Description: Galena, Illinois was founded in 1826, and named after the natural form of lead sulfide that was mined by Native Americans before the towns founding. Today the town serves as a popular tourist destination for Chicagoans trying to escape the busy city, and for those just wanting a nice place to spend the day. This is arguably the best historic stretch of small town main street in America in my opinion. The series is getting on its way and still lacks some structure and I would love feedback on your part!
