A Boeing 787-8 from Aeromexico had to abort the take-off on Sunday after a bird strike. Video images taken on board the aircraft show a large blowtorch coming from the left engine. The incident took place at Cancun airport on Sunday. Aeromexico's plane was starting a flight to Mexico City when the bird flew into one of the engines. The captain of flight AM549 decided to abort the take-off due to the subsequent engine failure, in line with safety protocol. The passengers eventually flew to their destination with another plane, the Mexican airline reports.
