Description: Factoring a quadratic expression into a pair of linear expressions is one of the primary methods used to solve quadratic equations. The trick is to find a pair of linear expressions which when multiplied together, produce the quadratic expression. Fortunately, there are several cases of quadratic expressions called "special products" whose factors can be easily identified. In this lecture we examine how to identify and factor one of those special products called the "difference of squares".
