Description: Today I am talking about the basics of color theory and how to mix the three primary colors to make a multicolored drawing. Most art classes teach you the primary colors as red yellow and blue. But it is best to consider Magenta Cyan and Yellow as the primary colors and Red blue and green as the primary colors. By using Cyan Magenta and Yellow (CMY) you can create all the other colors including red and blue easily. The problem with the Red blue yellow primaries is that they produce a very dull looking purple and green by mixing colors. And they can never produce certain colors like light aqua, hot pink etc. But with CMY you can create any color you want. And the best use of them is to modify an existing color from your box of colors to the color you want. This can be easily done after experimenting different combinations of colors yourself. The colors used for this video are all from Prismacolor pencils. They are • Magenta • True blue (Most matching color for cyan) • Sunburst yellow ------Some basic color mixes--------- • Magenta + Yellow = Red • Magenta + Cyan = Blue • Cyan + Yellow = Green • Red + Yellow = Orange • Blue + Magenta = Purple • Green + Yellow = Yellowish green, Chartreuse etc • Green + Cyan = Bluish greens such as peacock green peacock blues etc. Social Media Links. • FACEBOOK – facebook.com/artfadil • INSTAGRAM -- instagram.com/art.fadil • TWITTER -- twitter.com/ArtFadil • TUMBLR -- artfadil.tumblr.com BGM Santo Rico by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Artist: twinmusicom.org Cipher - Electronic Light by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100844 Artist: incompetech.com
