Description: THERE WERE DEFINITELY A FEW FIRST TIME EXPERIENCES FOR US WITH THIS FILIPINO MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY IN BUENAVISTA, AGUSAN DEL NORTE! We headed off into a rural area of Caraga for our next "SalikLakbay" with the Department of Science and Technology here in the Philippines. This community in Buenavista is home to many Higaonon, a group of Indigenous People here in the Philippines. We were welcomed with a ritual and then proceeded to explore, interact, listen and learn. Right away, you could tell the "forest was their pharmacy". I had the opportunity to experience many unique ethnobotanicals... And then found myself having fun and learning about banana work!
