Description: My story is far from what you would expect. It is far from a happy story, it really has to do with my experience from middle and high school. If you came looking for a positive happy story, you won't find it. Summary ======== In middle school, everyone sorts into "cliques" of people with their friends (and nobody really mingles). Being a lone and antisocial outsider and the "goody two shoes teacher's pet," nobody really liked me. I began to make maps because I wanted to "impress" a handful of people who I THOUGHT I wanted to be friends with. Over time I realized they were not normal people. These were the kind of people who enjoyed torturing animals and laughing at their expense (salting snails for example). One friend I did have though, Zoeth, hung by my side throughout this tough time. He introduced me to Minecraft in 7th grade, and from there everything started to form. I was severely depressed at the time because I believed the lies these "other friends" told me. I believed I was fat, ugly, and stupid. So I used Minecraft to create a new and "perfect me," that I could be proud of. While these "friends" would jump on Steam and play games together, I would lay in bed and tear up over my pitiful life. I began to fill my void with people like CaptainSparklez (YouTube videos), Sethbling, and Dragnoz. I was inspired to start making maps: maybe I could impress these "friends." I went to bed at night dreaming of what it would be like to play with friends and enjoy the Minecraft maps I had made. This never came to be, but I channeled that fantasy and used it to guide my life. I began to create things that could bring people together, so that at least someone could benefit from my situation. Late high school I regained my self-confidence and "ego," and I realized these were not friends. Friends don't make you pay them $$$ to let you play with them on a server. Friends don't shun you and make fun of you. Friends hang with you and stay with you through the thick and the thin. It took me 6 years to realize the idiots I wanted to be with were never "real friends." My one friend, Zoeth, hung with me throughout late middle and high school. He was a true friend. Today I use what I have learned over the years to continue making maps. From the beginning, I made maps for the community because I wanted to see the magic a simple fun game can work. It warmed my heart to read the beaming emails from families and the community telling me how much fun they had. I intend to continue making maps so long as the community wants them (and time permits!)! :D
