Description: For more information on my hunting / camping / survival knives: store.goughcustom.com Hey guys! I had a party at the shop the other day to celebrate finishing the restoration of the machining center! I wanted the people that came to be able to interact with the machine in a meaningful way, but also in a way that didn't entail too much risk of dismemberment or death! To tackle this I came up with the idea of the 'CNC Photo Booth'! The idea is that you take a photo of yourself using the webcam on a laptop, the photo is then processed into a depth map, which the machining center then 'prints' using a marker on a piece of paper! I wasn't sure if this was actually going to work out, but it ended up working surprisingly well! I'm releasing all the code for the CNC Photo Booth as open source software on GitHub, so check it out if you're interested in how it works: github.com/aarongough/cnc_photo_booth This is obviously a bit of a silly way to use such a large piece of industrial machinery, but I wanted to have a bit of fun! I've been waiting for my compressor to arrive anyway, that just showed up today so soon I will be getting started on the prototypes for the new version of the Resolute! Hope you enjoy the video, more coming soon! -Aaron
