Description: My F-150 is 17 years and 215,000 miles old. Its inspection ran out, and with a laundry list of problems that would have caused it not to pass. Fix it or replace it? That is the question. Here I test the viability and practicality of repairing it, and share what it took to put her back in service. It came at a bad time for me, as the past 6 months of my personal life have been particularly brutal. It has been literally one emergency after the next and none of them are completely resolved except for the passing of Caboose, the worlds most amazing and popular Manx. I'd let every catastrophe in my life win, or I'd trade everything in my driveway just to have him back, but it doesn't work like that. Caboose was 9 years old, and he is deeply missed. He beat 4 out of 5 diseases in his valiant effort to survive. He beat Feline Urinary Tract Disease twice when he was barely out of kittenhood. He beat anemia, he beat kidney failure, he beat a bacterial infection, but ultimately lost the battle to pneumonia. The exhaust cost $980 Ball joints were $280 Brakes were $110 Tune up was $140 2 Michelin XLT's Alignment & Inspection was $760 Headliner adhesive was $14 2013 F150 FX4 Supercrew was $56,000 when it was new. Yes, I got it for a bit less than that, but that makes this the most expensive video I'll likely ever produce on this channel. You can't dig it up like potatoes. It's not something you can buy if people want to experience your particular brand of creativity. The recent slew of tax audits, lawsuits (un-related to YouTube), county ordinance violations (related to YouTube) and the loss of my favorite furry friend certainly put a damper on my creativity and the financial resources necessary to produce content, but I'm making a comeback. I'm not mentioning any of this to complain or solicit donations. It's simply my illustration of how life goes on and how important it is for anyone to prioritize and win against all the challenges that life throws at us. If YouTube wants to pay me $300 a month for what I do here... but I end up with thousands of dollars worth of problems, YouTube will lose when it comes time for me to prioritize what's really important. That's not my fault. That's not your fault. That's Google's fault. There are lots of great channels with great talent here that are underpaid for the entertainment and quality of information they provide. I know I'm not the only person who struggles with this. At the time of this upload, I do have 3 other projects in the works. They will be finished when they're finished, and not a moment sooner. At least this truck is no longer compounding my legal issues or standing in the way of progress. It has a new lease on life, and though a dealership won't give me anything on a trade-in… what's this truck worth if it lasts another 60,000 miles? 60,000 miles that I didn't put on an FX4? What's it worth if I don't have to haul **** and scratch up my FX4? The repair costs are worth it.
