Description: FauquierENT.net - Retropharyngeal abscess is an uncommon, but potentially life-threatening infection due to a collection of pus within the tissues of the back wall of the throat. The back throat wall lining is actually composed of several tissue layers with potential spaces between each layer. It is within the retropharyngeal space (found between the pharyngeal muscle and alar fascia) that an abscess can form. Another more common type of throat abscess is known as peritonsillar abscess: youtu.be/2CQWqGHJE9Q Still haven’t subscribed to Fauquier ENT on YouTube? ►► bit.ly/35SazwA #throatabscess #sorethroat #throatpain
