It's even harder to imagine that her family chose to organize a wedding instead of sending her to surgery when they could! Back in 2017, the story of Afsheen, who lives in rural Pakistan, became known around the world. Her family could not afford to take her to a specialist to determine what condition she had and ignorantly concluded that it was because she fell when she was a toddler. Luckily for Afsheen, a sponsor decided to be in charge of her treatment financially and she was sent to a hospital in the capital of Pakistan. Doctors believe she has a muscular disorder and needed surgery which reminds us of Mahendra Ahirwar from India who had the same symptoms and suffered from Muscular Myopathy which makes the neck muscles so weak that they can't lift the head. Shockingly, her family decided to delay her surgery for an astonishing reason: her relative's wedding which led the sponsor to withdraw and they were not able to contact him again to reschedule the treatment. Afsheen has spent all her life in pain and needs help for simple tasks. She never went to school and spends most of her days at home. Her only escape is social media.
