Description: Welcome back to another episode of 'Customs & Restorations with Vick'. This week Vick got his hands on a pair of BEAT Red October's that need some of that Almighty TLC! Before he could get started on restoring this grail, a good deep cleaning was required. Trying to add paint to a dirty sneaker will not work! Vick broke out the RESHOEVN8R brass bristle brush with the 4 ounce bottle of solution and immediately attacked the grimy outsole. Spending extra time with his trusty pick, the Almighty One made sure each groove was free of any dirt or gunk this shoe has collected over the years. Once cleaned, Vick applied Sole Revive to try and bring back some more of that red glow. There wasn't any visible oxidation, but after two days in the indoor UV setup, the soles were looking fresh! Unfortunately the gold aglets on the end of the laces were glued on, so Vick was unable to remove the laces during the cleaning of the uppers. After cleaning the uppers with the soft bristle, and soles using the medium bristle brush - both contained in the Signature Kit - Vick broke out a few of his most trusted resources: a lint shaver to clean the sock liner, a lighter to get rid of any frayed material on the uppers, alcohol prep pads to try and remove any scuffs from the spine, and some scissors to help clean up any lose stragglers on the laces. Once the shoe dried, it was finally time for paint! Using a mixture of orange, chili red, hot pink, and neon pink. Vick laid down a coat of paint on the recently stripped midsoles. It matched perfectly! Vick even took the time to give the Red October bag a scrub down while the shoe dried! Last but not least, Mink Oil! The suede on the toe box was extra crunchy, so you know Vick couldn't walk away without spraying a few coats and massaging it in with our new horse hair brush (coming soon)! Let us know what you think of the before and after in the comments, and as always, thanks for watching!
